A baseball date with dad

Diamondbacks game, originally uploaded by RobinJP.

I saw this cute couple tonight at the Diamondbacks vs. Mets game at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Dad and daughter look like they are checking out the scoreboard or a replay of one of the game's many home runs. But no. I think she was amused by the Condiment Race on the Jumbotron. Ketchup, Mustard and Relish were making their way around the track.

Yet, this little cutie was so good. She sat with dad who was watching the game in between getting her ice cream, trying to teach her to clap and holding her on his shoulders so she could try to catch a free T-shirt.

She was a trooper. And she hung in there longer than I did. She was still out in the bleachers with dad at the top of the 7th inning as I was heading home, listening to the rest of the game on the car radio.

That's a touching moment you captured. So much depth behind an image.

I wonder if she'll ever come across this photo of her. Maybe some day when she's all grown up. Wouldn't that be magical?

I loved the image of them. Don't know them. I felt a little stalkerish though. I showed the dad the photo and did send it to his email. I tried to be very un-stalkerish when I talked with him.

So hopefully she'll see it again. She was no at all interested in me.. still eating ice cream when I asked her if it was her first game. I really got the cold shoulder. =)

Very sweet. And yeah, my baseball interest wanes around the 7th inning as well. She IS a trooper.

The thing I like about this perfect moment is that it was one that you witnessed.

And through your witnessing it, it was a perfect moment for you too.

Thanks for sharing your Perfect Moments.

Thanks, Sheri, that's a great point. I love kids and don't have any at home... lots of nieces and nephews ... so I'm often watching for their Perfect Moments. Gotta be careful though. Don't want to frighten the parents.
